Just Transition Forum Asia 2024
The Regional Climate and Energy Project of Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) Asia in collaboration with Climate Action Network Southeast Asia (CANSEA) held the fourth edition of its flagship international virtual event – Just Transition Forum Asia (JTFA) – from 4 to 6 September 2024.
Under the theme 'Emphasizing Finance for Loss and Damage in Just Transition', 2 panel discussions and keynote address gathered leading experts from across the world who provided multistakeholder perspectives on loss and damage and just transition. 10 Transformational labs held by various organizations also provided an opportunity for practitioners doing real work on the ground on implementing just transition to share their experience.
Across 3 days of intense discussions, we have explored the complexities of just transitions, the urgent need for climate finance, and the role of cooperation across borders and sectors to address the profound challenges ahead. Innovative idea from the rich discussions will move forward into action. Dialogues and new collaborations will be continued to push for solutions that are equitable, sustainable, and just.
We were thrilled to see the response this year, with 683 registrants from 57 countries, which shows the demand for this platform. It also reflects growing just transition community in Asia and beyond.
Thank you to all the speakers, moderators, MC, partners, participants and our colleagues for making this forum a success!
