Robots, Trump, Brexit: Is the global window for development closing?

In the face of economic, ecological and social challenges the Economy of Tomorrow project prepares the shift to a new development path.

Over forty colleagues from FES offices in Asia, together with subject experts, will meet in Seoul from 10-15 October 2016. Together they will analyse the present global trends marked by a shrinking space for export-led growth opportunities and rise of digital automation.

Following up on the discussions on the Transformation Trap in Bangkok in 2015, this year the Economy of Tomorrow annual conference will focus on the challenges of the fourth industrial revolution.

Building on the knowledge generated by a series of country studies on the political economy of development in Asia, discussions will tackle the ability of emerging economies to address these challenges.
