Cooperation for peace and security

FES is convinced that a peaceful dialogue culture, including acceptance and appreciation of pluralism, fair negotiation and willingness to find consensus, is a milestone in the process of creating a peaceful, democratic and prosperous world.

In South Asia, we function as a platform for dialogue, helping non-governmental organizations, relevant state agencies and other stakeholders to map paths towards mutual understanding, reframe the relationship and identify entry points for a win-win cooperation..

In collaboration with our partners, we identify and discuss regional conflicts in the fields of security, resources, trade and relations with neighboring countries to develop effective strategic solutions and policy recommendations.

Current major topics are the peace and security policy implications of China’s Silk Road Initiative and conflict resolution approaches on the basis of the “Joint Regional Declaration” in Afghanistan and neighbouring countries, with an emphasis on the future of Afghanistan-Pakistan security and media relations; and multi-party dialogue formats involving stakeholders from India and Central Asia.
